Petimezi (grape must) is a caramelized grape juice syrup/must without sugar.
A unique Greek syrup made from 100% local grape juice. Bright, slightly "burnt" sugar taste, but without any added sugar. It's a great sugar substitute (or for people who are allergic to honey). Perfect for cocktails, desserts without refined sugar, flavoring ice cream or simply drinking as a syrup with water and lemon. Various sources indicate an increased concentration of calcium and especially iron minerals ( ~1mg of iron per 100g of product ). In ancient times, this syrup was given to anemic patients and girls during menstruation to restore iron (and hemoglobin) in the blood. Usually, this product has a shelf life of up to 2 years, but it can be kept for up to 5-7 years and its properties do not change.
